Getting exact matching domain will no more give the benefit. That is what Google’s last EMD update suggests. ~ Nick
I am going to have to completely disagree with that statement. In fact we have not only seen people just crushing it with EMD’s after the update, we ourselves are seeing it as well. We even have a case study coming up on this very topic. I would even go so far as to say EMD’s perform better now since the update. Extremely blatant and spammy tactics used on EMD’s will get an EMD penalized. Sorry about removing the name and link, but we don’t accept comments with keywords for anchor text, that stuff is too spam like, if you use a real name we will allow the link on future comments. Thanks for stopping by. Also, check out this link for a more descriptive blog post on this topic: http://topmarketingstrategies.com/seo-what-is-working-today
Hi Troy and Mike what’s the Firefox plugins name for quick extract content creation ? I heard it was something to do with there tool bar – on the podcast. Great idea though ! – Podcast 4 content marketing.
Hi David,
We had the plugin custom developed for us. There may be plugins out there that do it, but we just created our own…
Nice share. This article is very helpful Troy. Excellent post.
Awesome Alex. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks Alex – appreciate the kuddos… stay tuned to the podcast – we have lots of great stuff planned… and hey, you can always leave a review in iTunes for us…
Just to clarify the EMD situation. When the first update came it was a case of being unsure what was happening. Now it seems silly names like topgardeningdesignandplantings.com are more ‘over specific’ look like spam keyword intended or not. Case study and testings are reflecting this perhaps. Personally I’m going to go generic with a slight tweek – a bit like you have reflected in your podcast and your current site name above. Google might say something but not give full details – hence you need to test things out or find some people who you can trust who have clients that do tests on these things. Perhaps referring back to what Google said 2 months ago and what they are ‘now saying’ did not come through in the podcast ? Then the disagreement with Google might confuse some people if details were not fully made in the podcast. These guys have many clients , top articles , webinars etc. Mike are Troy the makers of this website are reliable, straight to the point gracious and helpful. Perhaps my example of a domain above will bring a clarifying example or a correction of me from Troy or Mike.
Very well put and a great example. Thanks Dave!
Thanks David.
I think the most important thing that you said is simple – you need to test. That is our mantra and anyone reading should always be willing to do that themselves. It’s easy to have an opinion, but when you have a test across numerous niches with multiple sites that can SHOW the results to be clear cut (trust me, that is NOT always the case and many tests are “manipulated” to show just the good parts) then you know you have something.
Having hundreds of clients and overseeing thousands of domains between those of our clients, our private network of SEO sites and our own niche, affiliate and CPA sites as well gives us the luxury of having a wide dataset to test across.
Take care…
This is my first time pay a visit at here and i am in fact impressed
Thanks Emilio, we look forward to more visits from you!
Did you mention a google chrome extention that helps you capture an article on someone’s site and share it on your website? I can not rmemeber what it was…
Hi Jeff,
We had a custom FireFox plugin created, that we personally use to add items to our brain dump category: http://topmarketingstrategies.com/brain-dump
We are considering releasing it in the near future, and maybe adding Chrome support etc.
Thanks for stopping by!
